Pedro Mendizabal has only been living in the USA for the last 9 months. Ever since he was a boy he had a penchant for painting and drawing, but it was not until he was 19 that he started to create art professionally.
He was taught by various important cuban artists such as landscape artist Esteban Machado, Nicolas Alayo, Jose Baro and David Isaías. He enrolled in Academia San Alejandro in 2006. From 2003 to 2006, he exhibited his work in various venues such as group shows in Casa de la Cultura, and Arte Prado to name a few. While going on his second year at San Alejandro he meets American artist Caitlin Ezell Waugh who helps him leave the island. This is his first US solo show.
