This month of June marks 30 years of my arrival in the USA, via the Mariel Boatlift. It was an event that marked my life inmensely, and somehow I wanted to get involved and honor, and remember that event which changed my life and the life of so many others.

On June 4, we opened the exhibit Farewell to the Sea: Remembering El Mariel 30 years later, with 30 artists who came via el Mariel. The exhibit will run until June 27.
